Copper is chemically resistant, has a good corrosion-resistance, is a well formable metal, the electric and heat conductivity of which is very high, so it meets the requirements of electrotechnical and electronical industry. Its second significant field of application is building construction, household technology.

Main alloys of copper are zinc (brass), tin (bronze) and aluminium (aluminium bronze).

Copper alloyed with zinc, brass are harder and of higher strength, it can be well polished, but it is a metal of lower electric conductivity. The more the zinc content of the material is, the better machinable it is. Its main fields of application are production of machine components and building construction.
